Bluebonnets

It's bluebonnet season. Vlad and I and Lana went driving the backroads a couple of weeks ago to find some and take photos. I want to make a slideshow for Vlad's sister when we go to Odessa in August. I want to include as much Texas culture as possible, thus the bluebonnets.

We drove west up toward Brenham. We ended up just east of Industry, Texas, on some little farm roads.

It's not a great year for wildflowers. It's been very dry, even with all the hurricanes. Today it was 92 degrees. (It's so high that the geniuses in charge of the state's electricity were forced to institute rolling blackouts for awhile in Houston. You'd think with their insane price hikes in recent years, they'd have spent some money on planning for such things.)
